Vipers SC assistant coach Marcelo Cardoso claims that their game plan and strategy worked very against KCCA FC.
The Venoms registered a 2-1 victory against the Kasasiro Boys at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Saturday evening courtesy of Ceaser Manzoki and Milton Karisa’s strikes.
According to Cardoso, their game plan and strategy worked well on Saturday.
“It was as we expected a very tough game,” Cardoso said before adding.
“We know the KCCA team as we studied them alot and we had our plan and strategy for the match and it worked very well despite the first goal we conceded unexpectedly.“
“We knew that they use that position a lot but we went on to score two goals and overcame the opponents but the most important thing for us was to add one more good performance,” he added.
He went on to stress that their main target is to win every game because the title race is still on.
“Our target is to win every match but it is not possible as you will lose some along the way but we knew that during this match, we could perform not so well and win.“
“The championship and League are not yet over.“
“We are just happy that we are 12 points ahead. We have a good opportunity to win it and that was still the case even before this match.“
“All we will do is do our best to win the next match so that we win the League as soon as possible but not yet.”
“We are now showing that we are very strong and we are ready to represent Uganda well in the Champions League next season,” he noted.
The victory gives the Venoms a 12-point gap between them and KCCA FC who have failed to have a constant run in their results.
Vipers will take on Gaddafi FC in their next league game at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Wednesday, April 20th.
