Police in Kabale district are stuck with a body of an unidentified male adult who was on Tuesday discovered tied in a sack, in a decomposing state with several injuries on the head and a deep stab wound on the neck.
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson told the press that the LC1 chairperson Kigongi “A” cell William Tumuramye, reported the case of a dead body floating on River Rwabakazi in Rushaki cell.
Maate revealed that the scene was visited by the OC CID Kabale and homicide.
A decomposing body tied in a sack, was retrieved from the water and the body later taken to Kabale regional hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
Maate narrated that the body is in mid 30s and had several injuries on the head and a deep stab wound on the neck, an indication that was killed with a sharp object and dumped in the river.
Maate requested the public that if anyone missing his dear one,should visit the Kabale Regional hospital mortuary so that the body is identified and taken for burial.
The case file of murder was registered at Kabale CPS under reference number CRB:404/2023.
