The top-tier Qatari influencers arrived in the country for a week-long familiarization trip that aims at promoting Uganda’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

The trip is designed to showcase Uganda’s key tourist destinations and attract more visitors from Qatar to explore the unique experiences the country has to offer.

According to Ambassador Mohammed Baswari Kezaala, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Uganda Embassy in Qatar, the delegation is set to visit the Murchison Falls, one of the world’s most powerful waterfalls, and Jinja City, Uganda’s adventure capital known for its exhilarating river activities among others.

“The familiarization trip is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening cultural ties between Qatar and Uganda and raising awareness of Uganda’s tourism offerings. We are delighted to host these influential individuals from Qatar, who will help us connect with a wider audience in the region,” he said.

In addition, the Ambassador explained that the goal is to position Uganda as a must-visit destination for Qatari travellers, highlighting the country’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and diverse tourism experiences.

Khalaf M. Alidmat, one of the influencers, lauded the Uganda Embassy in Qatar for this invitation, saying, “The timing is perfect; the weather is great, and now understand why Uganda is called the Pearl of Africa, and it really deserves that title.”

“This is the destination that is worth going to. I can’t wait for the next few days, and hopefully, you will hear from us after having the full experience of the tour,” he added.

Following the familiarization trip, the influencers will embark on a two-month digital promotion campaign. They will share their experiences and captivating content on their platforms, showcasing Uganda’s exceptional wildlife, landscapes, and cultural richness. This collaboration is expected to generate significant social media engagement and raise awareness of Uganda as a premier tourist destination in Africa.

This familiarization trip and the digital promotion campaign are part of Uganda’s ongoing efforts to build stronger ties with the Gulf region, encourage cultural exchange, and boost tourism arrivals to the country.
