Senegal submit official bid to host 2027 Afcon

African Champions Senegal through their football federation has submitted the official bid to host the 2027 Africa cup of Nations.

This is after the Teranga lions took home Africa cup of Nations (Afcon2021) for the maiden time courtesy of Sadio Mane’s final decisive spot kick.

The bid has come weeks after the Senegalese sports minister Matar Ba issued an order to renovate the eight regional stadiums across the country.

Senegal not long ago opened up the magnificent Abdoulaye Wade stadium where they hosted and eliminated Mohamed Salah’s Egypt to qualify for the Qatar 2022 World cup.

According to the Senegalese federation, the reconstruction and renovation of the regional stadiums will be funded by the chinese government while the rehabilitation of the Demba Diop stadium will be funded with $11 in FIFA funds.

The Minister added that Senegal will do everything to have finished the work by 2023 to show it’s seriousness in hosting nations cup.

Senegal joins other nations such as Tanzania ,Burkina Faso , Namibia and Botswana in the race to host Africa’s best sports competition
