Vipers forward Yunus Sentamu has called upon his teammates to stage a quick positive response after the shock suffered at Buhinga Stadium.
The Venoms suffered a 1-0 loss against bottom based Tooro United in the StarTimes Premier League on Friday.
Mark Nsubuga came off the bench to become the hero after tapping home Muhammad Ssenoga’s delivery with only ten minutes to play.
“It is our (Vipers) responsibility to turn that around,” Sentamu to Vipers website before adding; “We have a great opportunity on Wednesday against Busoga United”
“We were very disappointed, especially with the whole game. We know we are better than that so in that sence, we are gutted.”
Vipers SC had a chance to extend the lead to six points but could not beat Tooro United’s composure and enthusiasm.
“When the first half ended and we failed to convert ourselves, I felt we had great opportunities to kill the game but we failed to do that. So I credit Tooro, I thought they were brilliant and we were not up to scratch.”
According to Sentamu the team slightly improved in the second half but were not clinical enough to place the ball in the back of the net.
In the next game, Vipers SC will face a much more improved side in Busoga United than that they beat 4-1 in the first leg.
Both sides have lost once, drawn once and won thrice in their last five league games.
However, Vipers has collected maximum points in all the games where they have faced Abbey Kikomeko’s side.
