Kataka FC and Onduparaka FC progressed to the next round of the Uganda Cup after victories in Wednesday’s fixtures.
Kataka FC beat Paidha Black Angels 2-0 in a game played in Mbale courtesy of Joel Onziku and Okwur Swamadu’s strikes in the 24th and 34th minutes respectively.
Meanwhile, Onduparaka FC were 2-1 winners against Tooro United at AbaBet Greenlight Stadium in Arua.
Gabriel Matata opened scoring for Onduparaka in the 21st minute after a swift long pass from Matovu before Martin Arinaitwe Chicharito equalised for the visitors.
Muhammad Shaban then scored a winner in the 84th minute to send Onduparaka to the next round of the competition.
The two sides joins Wakiso Giants, UPDF FC, Iganga Young, Mbale Heroes, Ndejje University, Kataka and Tipsa FC who progressed to the round of 16.
The action in the Stanbic Uganda Cup will resume on Friday, 25th February.
