Stanbic Uganda Cup: ‘Our target is to win Uganda Cup’ – Byekwaso

KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso claims that one of their main targets this season is to win the Stanbic Uganda Cup title ahead of their round of 32 game.

The record holders will host Soltilo Bright Stars FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Friday February 25th.

According to Byekwaso, winning the Stanbic Uganda Cup title is one of their targets this season making Friday’s game a must-win for them.

Our targets have never changed. We want to win the League and Uganda Cup. The players, technical and management are all focused on this and that is the goal,” Byekwaso said.

It is a bit worrying that our forwards are not scoring but we have handed the responsibility to each and every player to score.”

We have taken them through drills that enable each and everyone to score goals when handed a goal scoring opportunity,” he added.

KCCA FC and Bright Stars FC shared spoils in a one all draw played in Kavumba in the first round of the 2021/22 season of the Uganda Premier League.

Julius Poloto, Sadat Anaku and Ali Mwirusi Ali are back in the squad. The trio missed the last three games because they had traveled to Spain for talent exhibition matches.

Dennis Iguma is back in the squad after missing the last three league games due to a muscle injury he picked up in the game against Onduparaka FC on 3rd February 2022.

Kaddu Patrick will miss the game due to injury while Dominic Ayella is away due to school commitments.

Peter Magambo, has stepped up his rehabilitation while Wasswa Emmanuel, Wasswa Geofrey and Kayanja Brian remain long term absentees.

Anaku, Mwirusi and Poloto are back and we shall asses them in the last training. Iguma is back and will make the squad, Kaddu will miss this game but will most likely be back for the next game against Express,” he further noted.

In the last 17 games played between both sides with KCCA FC winning 10 times, Bright Stars FC have won twice while the other five times ended in spoils.
