Stanbic Uganda Cup: Soltilo Bright Stars disgorges KCCA FC from the tournament

KCCA FC have been ejected out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup following their 1-0 loss against Soltilo Bright Stars on Friday evening.

Marvin Youngman scored for Soltilo Bright Stars in the 9th minute but KCCA FC were unable to find an equaliser at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Youngman shot in from close range after being set up by Ibrahim Kasinde.

It should be noted that KCCA FC coach Morley Byekwaso said that their target this season was to win both the league and Uganda Cup in the pre-match press conference.

KCCA FC’s Brian Majwega was twice denied by the goalkeeper before keeping out an effort from Julius Poloto.

Hassan Jurua also headed onto the cross bar to compound the hosts’ frustrations.

Stanbic Uganda Cup’s exit means that KCCA FC’s only hope for silverware this season lies in the StarTimes Uganda Premier where they are second on the table.
