Busoga United held Busoga United in a one-all draw in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Kavumba Recreational Grounds on Wednesday.
The hosts commanded the game at the starting minutes and had all chances to kill the game early but flattered many chances in the early kickoff which they will leave to remember.
Bright Stars will go back the sad side after failing to pick maximum points in a game that would revive their survival chances.
In the 22nd minute, Ibrahim Kasinde laid a low cross in the area and Joseph Janjali calmly controlled it before he shot it in the back of the net.
A minute later Nelson Senkatuka’s chilly ball found Kasinde at the far post but his powerful header went wide by inches.
With eight minutes to play, Anwaru Ntege Mustafa nodded home a dropping ball beating Simon Tamale who had moved off his line to level matters.
The result sends Busoga United in the 10th position with 26 points while Bright Stars sit 14th with 21 points having a game in hand.
In the next fixture, Busoga United will host UPDF at Kakikudu Stadium on Tuesday April 12 while Bright Stars travel to Fort Portal to face Tooro United on Wednesday.
