Tooro United FC registered a 1-0 narrow win against Onduparaka in the Star Times Uganda Premier League at Buhinga Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Mohammed Senoga led Tooro United to a perfect second round start as the Fort Portal based side pick the second win of the season.
The first victory of the side came in the opening game of the season as they sealed a 1-0 victory against Mbarara City FC at Buhinga.
In the 30th minute, Onduparaka’s midfielder Ronald Mubiru tried low shot inside the box off Emmanuel Oketch but his effort was deflected out for a corner kick.
Six minutes later, the Caterpillars found their best chance of the game but debutant Norman Ogik’s effort rattled off the woodwork to deny the visitors from taking the lead.
After ten minutes into the second stanza, Onduparaka’s defender John Rogers brought down Mohammed Senoga to give Tooro a penalty.
Senoga stepped up to take the challenge and the right footed forward perfectly sent Micheal Kagiri the wrong way as his ball found the back of the net.
Second half substitute Mark Nsubuga forced the ball into Kagiri’s legs before it hit the left upright and moved out as the hosts missed the chance to extend the lead.
The result leaves Tooro United at the bottom of the 16-teamed log with seven points while Onduparaka are 13th with 14 points after 16 games played.
In the next fixture, Onduparaka will host Busoga United FC at Green Light Stadium, Arua on Sunday February 13 while Tooro United play Express at Wankulukuku on Friday.
