SUPL: Express fight hard to rescue a point against Gaddafi

Express FC’s wait for their maiden win against interim coach James Odoch continues after they fought hard to register a point from stubborn Gaddafi FC.

The two sides settled for a one-all stalemate at Gaddafi Arena in Jinja on Wednesday March 8th in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Gaddafi FC went in the driving seat in the 15th minute when Paul Musamali scored for them from a freekick.

In the 28th minute, Joseph Akandwanaho had a chance to level the score for Express FC but he failed to slot home George Senkaaba’s cross from the right.

Murushid Juuko was booked in the 38th for a foul on Basangwa in the box and a penalty was awarded to Gaddafi but Umaru Kyeyune failed to convert the penalty as his shot was saved by the woodwork.

In the 73rd minute, Abel Etrude came closer to tapping home Erick Kambale’s cross on the left but he missed by inches.

With nine minutes to go, Express FC got an equalizer through substitute Charles Musiige who headed home Joseph Akandwanaho’s cross from the left.

Express FC who failed to register victory in their previous five league games remained sixth on the table with 31 points while Gaddafi FC is eighth with 26 points.
