SUPL: KCCA edge URA to keep their title hopes alive

KCCA sealed a 1-0 narrow win against URA in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Wednesday.

With only two minutes into the game, Patrick Kaddu placed the ball in the back of the net to give KCCA an early lead.

Eight minutes later, Usama Arafat placed a through pass to meet Rogers Mato but bis resultant effort was parried away URA’s custodian Nafian Alionzi.

With five minutes to play in the first half, Mato beat his maker to pace and sent a through pass to meet Kaddu but Alionzi rushed off his line to clear the lines.

Two minutes into the second half, Yasser Mugerwa nearly made a quick impact after replacing Mato but his effort was palmed away by Alionzi.

Brian Majwega’s corner kick was met by Filbert Obenchan but header missed the target by a few inches.

Moment later Kaddu nearly sealed a brace but his header from close range was palmed by Alionzi from close range.

KCCA will travel to Kakyeka Stadium to play against Mbarara City on Sunday February 13 while URA will host Gaddafi on Saturday.
