Police FC skipper Tony Mawejje claims that he is happy with his side’s point picked against UPDF FC.
UPDF FC threw away a two goal first half lead only to share points in a 2-2 stalemate in the Star Times Uganda Premier League at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Thursday.
Two second half goals from Police by Juma Balinya and Yusuf Ssozi earned the hosts a point at home.
Andrew Kawooya and Ivan Ahimibisibwe had given UPDF FC a lead in the first half.
“We came into the game knowing that we needed the three points but bad enough we started on low pace and it gave our opponents chance to score us two goals,” Mawejje said before adding.
“So, we had to come back from two goals down in the second half with instructions the coach gave us that there is nothing to lose and that if we want to get points, it’s by scoring goals.”
“It’s good enough that we scored two goals and got a point out of this game,” he added.
The draw means Police stay in 10th with 17 points, four behind UPDF who occupy 9th spot.
ke a short trip to play Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreational Grounds on Tuesday February 15 while UPDF will host Vipers SC at Bombo Military Barracks on Friday.
