SUPL: Express Seek Revenge Against Villa

Express FC will be seeking revenge against SC Villa who recently kicked them out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup in front of their fans at Muteesa (II) Stadium Wankulukuku.

The two sides will face off on Saturday April 9th at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Express FC enter this game after picking a 2-1 victory against Police FC in their previous encounter.

According to the Red Eagles interim coach James Odoch, his charges are well prepared to register victory against their arch-rivals SC Villa in the Kampala Derby.

“We have wrapped up our last training ahead of the game against S.C Villa,” Odoch said before adding.

“Everybody knows the Villa game is a derby and it’s always a difficult one. We’ve changed our technique and system but most importantly we’ve worked on our finishing.”

“Our last win against Police FC boosted our confidence and that’s what we intend to use in the game,” he added.

Express FC are hoping to avenge their post match penalty shoot-out loss in the domestic cup round of 32 against SC Villa in March.

The last 26 meetings between the two sides have seen Express FC pick up eight wins to Villa’s 10 with eight draws in between them across all competitions.

The derby ended goalless in the first leg at the Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku.
