SUPL: Our main focus is to get maximum points against Onduparaka – Mubiru

Police FC head coach Abdallah Mubiru has said that his side’s priority is to register maximum points against Onduparaka ahead of their game.

The two sides will face off on Friday April at MTN Omondi Stadium in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

According to Mubiru whose side have failed to register a win in the previous four game, the focus on Friday will be to win the game.

“League is a marathon. So, we made mistakes in the previous game, from that day, all our focus shifted to Onduparaka and nothing counts from the previous game,” Mubiru said before adding.

“We are only looking at us consolidating all the mistakes we made. We want to consolidate them by getting maximum points against Onduparaka,” he added.

Police FC lost 2-1 against Express FC at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku in their previous game.

“I’m very pleased with the team and every member of the team. Everyone has been positive throughout the week. Players have been working hard. We tried to rectify the mistakes we committed and of course, plans and players have been working according to the game plan and they’ve been executing it very well.”

“So we are looking forward to getting positive results tomorrow. We are praying to Allah to guide us, to bless us and we put up a good show and performance,” he further noted.

Police FC will be without goalkeeper Abdul Kimera, Hassan Mahmood and Eddy Kapampa who are all out injured, Emmanuel Mugume and Sammy Sebadduka are returning from injury while Joseph Sentume returns from suspension.

“Most of the guys have knocks, but that is very common with all players playing the league, it is attributed to the way the fixtures are drawn. But then if you compare to the pitches we are using and then the systems we have in place, they don’t aid players to recover on time.”

“So there’s a lot of fatigue in the players and then that one contributes to the knocks and injuries they are having.”

“We’re having some knocks, there are some injuries, but we have a team prepared and that is ready to give us results tomorrow.”

“We are only focusing and looking at getting maximum results in the game tomorrow,” he further added.

In the previous five league meeting between the two sides, Onduparaka FC registered three wins while Police FC managed two victories.

The two sides are currently tied on 24 points with Police FC 12th on the table while Onduparaka is 13th.
