SUPL: Police, Arua Hill tied in a goalless draw

Arua Hill SC held Police FC in a goalless stalemate in the Star-Times Uganda Premier League at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday evening.

Alfred Leku nearly placed Arua Hill SC in the lead after meeting Richard Matovu’s cross but his effort missed the target by inches.

Matovu was at it again with a fine cross into the area causing danger but Police’s defence later worked hard to clear away danger.

In the 15th minute, Samuel Ssekamate’s hard freekick went above the wall but it went above the woodwork closely.

Leku laid a well measured cross to meet Ssekamatte in the box but headed effort went wide.

With five minutes to play in the first half, Matovu arrowed a long pass to meet Leku but the forward wasted a clear chance to give the visitors the lead.

Goalpoacher, Leku came close in the area but he slipped off before tapping home at close range.

Moments later, Rashid Kawawa laid an inch-perfect corner kick but Police custodian Tom Ikara to palm the effort out of reach.

Else where, Busoga United waited till the 83rd minute to cancel Henry Kitengenyi’s first half goal through Ronald Kasamba at Kakyeka Stadium, Mbarara.
