SUPL: Red Eagles Fly Highest In Kampala Derby

The Red Eagles registered a second consecutive victory in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League following a 2-1 to fly past SC Villa in the Kampala Derby that was held at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

An own goal from Amir Kakomo and Eric Kambale’s goal were enough for Express while Isaac Ogwang scored for SC Villa in the Kampala Derby game played at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru on Saturday evening.

SC Villa took an early lead in the sixth minute of the game through Isaac Ogwang who was assisted by Nicholas Kabonge.

However, the lead didnt last long as Express FC equalized 10 minutes later through an own goal from Kakomo Amir off an Enock Ssebagala shot.

In the 34th minute, Ivan Mayanja missed from close range after Martin Kizza crossed in from the right.

Express FC custodian Chrispus Kusiima had a great save in the 37th minute to deny Benson Muhindo’s header from going in.

Express FC took the lead through Eric Kambale’s goal in the added minutes of the first half following a assist by Ivan Mayanja.

Express FC had a chance to make it 3-1 but Enock Ssebagala placed the ball wide from a Kambale pass in the 51st minute before Martin Kizza put the ball an inch wide from the right wing in the 60th minute.

In the 71st minute, Kusiima kept a shot from Sadam Juma out as SC Villa was looking for an equaliser.

The win left Express FC fifth on the log with 39 points while SC Villa is now 12th with 25 points.
