SUPL: Soltilo Bright Stars Humble BUL To Get Out Of Red Zone

Soltilo Bright Stars registered a well deserved 3-0 victory against a blunt BUL side in the Star Times Uganda Premier League at Kavumba Recreational Grounds on Friday.

Simon Oketch nearly gave BUL the lead with a shot in the area but Bright Stars custodian Simon Tamale punched away the effort.

Moments later, Bright Stars responded with a dangerous cross in the area that beat BUL’s defence to meat Derrick Ngobi but the defender’s shot went above the cross bar.

In the 37th minute, Bright Stars we’re awarded a penalty after Ibrahim Kazidula was cautioned for foul in the area, Ibrahim Kasinde stepped up an slotted the ball home from the spot.

Two minutes into the second half, Yasin Mugume laid a calm pass to Joseph Janjali who pulled the trigger from outside the box to extend Bright Stars’ lead.

At the top of the hour, BUL FC were awarded a freekick steps away from the box but Kazindula’s take was not close to the target.

Bright Stars earned the third goal after BUL dfender Walter Ochoraconnected Methodius Jungu’s cross in his own net.

The well-earned victory sent Paul Kiwanuka’s charges to the 12th position with 19 points while BUL seat fourth on the 16-teamed log with 33 points.

In their next games, Soltilo Bright Stars will play away to Arua Hill SC on Tuesday March 15 while BUL will host Tooro United on Friday at Kyabaziga Stadium.
