UPDF FC and Arua Hill SC played to a one-all draw in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at Bombo Barracks grounds on Wednesday.
Ibrahim Wamanah broke the deadlock before Kabuye came off the bench to pick a point for the leopards.
Rashid Kawawa laid a cross into the area to meet Alfred Leku but the lanky forward collided with UPDF goalkeeper Wasswa.
Leku was on the end of Gadafi Wahab’s corner kick but his effort was blocked. Ibrahim Tembo’s powerful rebound also failed to hit the target.
UPDF were awarded a controversial penalty and Ivan Ahimbisibwe blasted the ball over the bar failing to give the visitors the well deserved lead at half an hour mark.
At the death of the first stanza, Ibrahim Wamannah placed the ball home to place the army side in the driving seat.
Minutes into the second half, Bright Vuni’s cross was misused by Kawawa whose miscalculated shot hardly yielded a thing.
Arua gaffer Livingston Mbabazi made a double change introducing Richard Matovu and Stephen Kabuye for Musisi Farouk and Stephen Kabuye.
Ssekamatte nearly squared the result but the goal poacher slipped before getting on the ball for an effort on goal.
With 20 minutes to play Arua Hill made the third change introducing Jacob Kamwesiga for Sekamatte as the leopards continued to search for a leveller.
In the 87th minute, second-half substitute Kabuye levelled matters to yield from the constant attacks on the UPDF goal.
A point leaves Arua Hill in the fifth position at 33 points while UPDF sits ninth with 23 points after 20 games played.
