Vipers SC will seek a home victory against newcomers Arua Hill Sports Club at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday to consolidate position at the top of the StatTimes Uganda Premier League.
This is only a second meeting in the league between the two sides.
Arua Hill won the first through an Alfred Leku goal as the former Vipers striker proved the difference.
This means that the Venoms will be targeting revenge on Saturday.
Top of the league with 36 points, one ahead of KCCA FC in second, the Venoms will know it’s important to stay ahead of the chasing pack.
According to Vipers SC assistant Coach Marcelo Cardoso their only aim is to revenge against Arua Hill.
“Obviously it was a really tough one to swallow. The way it happened, it was really cruel. After everything we did in the start to the game in Arua, to lose the way we did was unacceptable.”
“But we moved on. We have some feelings towards that team and we want to put it right tomorrow,” Cardoso said.
Vipers head into this fixture on the back of an impressive winning run after two successive victories on the trot against SC Villa (3-0) and BUL FC (3-1) which enabled them to assume the table leadership.
Second goalkeeper Denis Kiggundu is not available with knee injury while midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga is still out nursing a muscle injury and is under rehabilitation.
