The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Electoral Code is set to be amended by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).
According to an email dated February 18th, 2022 and penned by Laura Dijak the Senior Member Association Governance Manager at FIFA, the FUFA’s Electoral Code is set for amendment before next FUFA elections are held.
“Many thanks for your email and the important points raised therein. In this respect, please be advised that the FUFA electoral code will be amended going forward i.e., before the next FUFA elections, in collaboration with the Federation and CAF,” the email responding to Ivan Kakembo reads.
Kakembo sent his cry to FIFA on February 16th, 2022 raising matters around the process in which FUFA conducts its responsibilities, highlighting the manner in which the president and his counter parts are elected..
The FUFA Electoral Code is regarded by many football lovers in Uganda as unfair and that only favours the incumbent and people loved and appreciated by him or her.
The next FUFA elections bound for 2024 is set to be fairer than the previous editions if the amendments are being made and this will leave many smiling faces especially from those who suffered a lot from the existing electoral code for example Mujib Kasule and Allan Ssewanyana.
