Bruno Bunyaga scored five goals against Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) on Wednesday at Kavule Playground in the Pepsi University Football League.
Darius Agaba and Keene Akem scored the only two goals for Mbarara University but it was not enough to secure anything out of the game.
SLAU kicked off the game on a high tempo and with eight minutes into the game Bunyaga untied the knot with a strong header into the back of the net before he grabbed a brace seven minutes later.
Buddu’s deadly forward kept the song going after completing a quick hatrick within 20 minutes sending the whole pitch on it’s feet in chants and praise of the splendid show from the home boys.
Five minutes later, the scorer turned provider with a sweet delivery from the left flank but Dennis Kalanzi’s header went wide by inches.
In the 28th minute, Bunyaga was back to the dancing show to register a double brace in the first stanza of the game.
St Lawrence continued their dominance in the second half causing problems to the Mbarara University defence which couldn’t contain the pressure conceding a penalty in the 61st minute.
Bruno Bunyaga made no mistake but to make it five for St Lawrence and a glut unto his name .
Mbarara University pulled out two consolation goals in the 69th and 86th minutes through Darius Agaba and Gift Akem Kwena respectively.
The result saw SLAU topping Group D collecting 8points in five games Makerere coming second with 6points in five games (With four points and four goals docked.)
