Uganda Cup:Police Oust Defending Champions BUL

Police FC eliminated defending champions BUL FC with a 2-1 win in the quarter-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup at Kavumba.

The visitors took the lead through Anthony Mayanja in the second minute but failed to guard their bragging rights.

BUL we’re on the front foot as they looked to double their lead but the home side kept their back line intact and tight.

In the 59th minute, the game got levelled after Pascal Ngobi placed the ball into his net.

Jackson Semugabi’s header gave Ngobi hard time as it hit his leg before rolling into his net.

Shortly after five minutes, Ronald Sempala doubled the lead as he climbed highest in the area to nod home Denis Kalanzi’s cross.

More pressure for Simeone Masaba

The Jinja-based side has gone six games without a loss.

Coming into this game, they had lost 2-1 to 10-man Express in the Uganda Premier League.
