Ugandan Forward Kizza guides Riverhounds past Pittsburgh

Ugandan striker Edward Kizza scored in a 2-1 victory to guide Riverhounds SC past the University of Pittsburgh(Panthers) in an exhibition game.

Kizza, a former Panthers player during his college days found the back of the net in the 11th minute from a spectacular cross.

The Panthers were able to equalise through Filip Mirkovic, but Robbie Mertz scored the winning goal in the second half.

The Hounds are yet to lose a game in their preseason crusade, with one final game against the Louisville City FC on Saturday.

The 24-year-old is expected to play a pivotal role for the Hounds after making a permanent move from New England Revolution this term.

About Kizza:

Kizza played college football at the University of Pittsburgh and scored 31 goals in three seasons with the Panthers from 2017-19.

He helped his University to their first National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament appearance in 54 years.

The forward started his football career at Kampala-based outfit, Uganda Youth Soccer Academy (UYSA). During his formative years he took part in both local and international competitions.
