KCCA FC missed the chance of closing down SC Villa in the title purauit after a one-all draw against Blacks Power at Akii Bua Stadium, Lira on Wednesday.
Robert Eseru and Dennis Iguma were on target as the two sides shared spoils in a tight encounter.
The Kasasiro Boys came in this encounter after a 1-1 stalemate against the Maroons, the result saw them fall from the top position into the second.
Morley Byekwaso’s charges will have a long way back home after dropping two points hence creating a three-point gap from the summit.
Seven minutes into the game, KCCA right back Haruna Lukwago gave away the ball and Blacks Power got them on the break.
Robert Eseru was calm and placed the ball in between the legs of Derrick Ochan to give the hosts an early lead.
Just in a while, KCCA’s defense was asleep allowing Eseru to get the ball in the area but Ochan palmed away the lanky forward’s effort in a spectacular manner.
In the 37th minute, KCCA leveled matters through Denis Iguma who nodded home Allan Okello’s corner kick.
Later on, the visitors dictated play and came close often but could not get the ball past the line.
Both sides made changes but the result was kept intact hence sharing points on a sunny evening.
The result keeps KCCA FC in the second position with 37 points while Blacks Power is 14th with 16.
In the next games, KCCA will host UPDF at Lugogo on Sunday, April 9 while Blacks Power will visit Vipers at St Mary’s Kitende on Saturday.
