Despite a poor run in the second round, Wakiso Giants will fancy to complete a double against UPDF as they play at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium today.

The Purple Sharks have failed to win in their last five games and will seek to put this to an end.

They have only picked a point against Vipers and lost against Maroons, Blacks Power and KCCA.

Wakiso Giants midfielder Tom Matsiko is hungry for the win so that they get back to winning ways.

“We have to do all it takes to see that we win and get back to winning ways hence regaining our pride,” Matsiko said ahead of the game.

“We shall miss a number of our quality players due to injuries but I am sure that those available will execute the assignment,” he added.

In the same breath, Samson Kirya shared his sorrow for failing to win in the previous games and called upon his teammates to show up and fight for the badge.

“We have been unfortunate in the previous games despite playing well but we feel the game against UPDF is one to give us our first win in the second round,” he noted.

UPDF will come in this encounter after squeezing a win against Bright Stars to end the winless run of the Army side.

Though it’s right not, UPDF have not picked a win away from their home.
