Wakiso Giants will be targeting third consecutive victory when they host Onduparaka at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso on Friday.
The Purple Sharks have now won three games on the spin in all competitions including beating UPDF twice in six days.
According to Wakiso Giants head coach Alex Gitta Onduparaka is a threat as they are desperate to save their lives against the relegation monster poses.
“They are desperate but we as well and want to win this game for the stability of the team in topflight. The recent results have been a good and our concern is to see how best we maintain that winning run,” Gitta said.
Having played on Monday, there could be issues with players’ bodies against a team that has had no game in over two weeks but Gitta said that the previous few sessions have been mainly about recovery and regeneration.
“We have invested much in recovery and regeneration and the players have all responded well since the last game.”
Gitta also talked about the recent improvement in the team defence. Wakiso Giants had shipped in 11 goals in three games but have since let in just once in the previous three goals.
“The defensive mentality has been worked on and the lads have also done well in adapting to modern trends of defending,” he noted.
Tom Masiko will miss the game after getting a knock in training while Frank Ssebuufu returns after missing the UPDF game on Monday through a minor knock.
