St. Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende and Kawempe Muslim emerged champions of the third edition of the USSA Elite Championship.
In the final game of the championship, St. Mary’s Kitende locked horns with Royal Giants just like in the 2019 finals.
This time round the two sides played to a one-all draw unlike in 2019 when Kitende beat Royal Giants 2-0.
Faisal Tumwine opened the scoring account for Kitende before Isa Bugembe levelled matters to hold the champions.
In the girls’ final game, Kawempe Muslim beat Gadafi Integrated 2-1 in the tight contest to finish as table leaders with seven points from three games.
Agnes Nalukenya and Anisha Twaha were on target for Kawempe while Sophia Nakayinyi gave Gadafi a consolation after a controversial penalty call.
In other disciplines, St Mary’s Kitende (girls) beat Nabisunsa Girls in the final game of basketball. Kitende (girls) also managed to clinch the Netball trophy.
