St Mary’s Kitende vs Buddo SS
Arch rivals St Mary’s Kitende and Buddo SS will square off in a mouthwatering final of the 2023 Wakiso Region USSSA football qualifiers at Wakisha resource center.
It will be a repeat of last year’s final that ended goalless before Buddo won on penalties to carry home the bragging rights.
For numerous reasons this is the biggest game in school’s football for Wakiso Region and football fans will be treated to a thriller.
Kitende and KCCA forward Hassan Mubiru revealed to Gateway News that they want to revenge and it can’t be done on better grounds than the final.
“We are hungry and determined to claim what belongs to us, we have to avenge due to the pain we faced loosing the finals last year,” Mubiru ululated.
“We have come a long way so we want to conclude the journey on a high and that can be achieved by winning the title,” he added.
Kitende fought from a goal down to level matters in a one all draw before they beat Kyadondo 4-1 on penalties.
“We struggled during the semifinals but Allah guided us through. We shall rectify the mistakes and come back looking stronger and ready for the battle,” he added.
On the other hand, Buddo SS gaffer Simon Mugerwa said his team has been prepared for such games and they can not wait to showcase.
“We are ready, the boys are prepared and we shall approach the game maturely,” the soft spoken gaffer noted.
“We are the defending champion of this title so we shall play with utmost confidence and am hopeful that we shall win because we have all it takes to do so,” he concluded.
