Entebbe based Vision Group correspondent, Godfrey Ssempijja is over the moon after scooping the Media Personality of the award in the recently concluded Face of Entebbe Awards.
The soft spoken scribe told this publication that it has been devotion and perseverance to get to where he is now. “Everyday, I hit the field, I try to find stories that will impact change and shine a light on my community,” Narrated Ssempijja.
Adding that, “It is not an easy feat, but everyday you try to stay strong and serve your people, the challenges are enormous but with teamwork nothing is impossible,”
Ssempija believes that his journalism colleagues have been pivotal in his raise to stardom given the seemingly harsh environment embedded in the journalistism sphere.
The excited scribe thanked the organizers for their continuous efforts in recognizing journalists, ” I would like to thank Face of Entebbe for this prestigious award, being recognized as the Media personality of the year in the whole of Entebbe gives me satisfaction that the world recognizes my efforts in addressing the needs and concerns of the community, I would like to dedicate this award to Vision Group , my editors and Entebbe residents for the opportunity to work ,” said Ssempijja.
Face of Entebbe Awards is an annual event that seeks to identify individuals who have rendered great deliberations for the success of Uganda’s firts city, Entebbe.
