Witnesses in Mulago boss case want Court to dismiss their testimonies

Key witnesses in the case of Mulago Hospital Director, Dr. Byarugaba Baterana want their statements repealed. The pair said the statements were made under duress.

The Mulago Hospital boss is facing charges of fraudulent accounting, abuse of office, embezzlement and causing financial loss to the government of over UGX 28 Billion in four years.

The twosome are Robert Wasike of Setramaco Investments Limited and Catherine Nabwire of Conventional World Limited. The two directors made statements pinning Dr. Baterana.

They allege that the Health Monitoring Unit (HMU) coerced them to confess that all the money their companies received from the hospital was given back to Baterana.

Wasike and Nabwire have dragged the AAttorney General, Inspector General of Police, HMU director, Dr. Warren Namara to Court.

In their petition in the Civil Division of the High Court in Kampala pursuing block futher investigations. They are as well claiming damages to each of them for psychological and mental torture.
